Our History

Mascarona

The MASCARONA Foundation is a private non-profit institution, founded in August 2022, whose mission is to contribute to an integral development of the quality of life of seafarers, as well as their family group. in addition generating resources and development opportunities in proximity to the keys to well-being (work, health, education, culture, sports and others) in cooperation with entities that support this work, thus facilitating the necessary work tools in a timely and efficient manner. Always focused on the humanization of seafarers, highlighting the importance of their contribution to development, promoting their permanence and well-being.

Throughout the history of navigation, from its beginnings, we recognize that the work on board a ship (maritime ship) has been complex, regardless of the flag, bearing and voyage; and that no great ship yet can reach port safely without its crew.

Being a sailor is a unique lifestyle that requires vocation, strength and determination, a career that broadens horizons and crosses borders. A sacrificial job full of challenges, but vital for the progress of the human being.

Our Commitment

Mission

Provide maritime welfare services to seafarers on ships, both national and international, in compliance with the responsibilities set forth in the International Maritime Labor Convention 2006, of the International Labor Organization.

Based on three fundamental pillars:
1.- Provide shelter, support and well-being for all seafarers.
2.- Provide necessary tools, resources and opportunities.
3.- Optimize performance on board.

Vision

Establish Maritime Wellness centers throughout the national territory, under the standards and relationship with international organizations dedicated to providing this type of services.
